Dr. Keith Sherwood graduated from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Johns Hopkins Hospital/University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland and completed a rotating internship at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital and an Oral Oncology Fellowship at Harvard Dental School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Sherwood also completed a residency in Orthodontics at Nova Southeastern University. His undergraduate degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences was completed at the University of Maine Orono.
Dr. Sherwood is a member of the staff at Beverly Lahey Hospital. He also currently holds an appointment as an Associate Professor at Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
The many specialty association memberships and certifications held by Dr. Sherwood include the following: Diplomate of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons ( AAOMS), Fellow of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ( ABOMS) and member of the American Association of Orthodontists ( AAO). In addition, he is an active member of the Massachusetts Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Sherwood holds current certifications in Advanced and Basic Cardiac Life Support, and a certificate in Medical Acupuncture for Physicians from UCLA Medical School.
During his career, Dr. Sherwood has completed many research projects and written or edited various articles and chapters for several specialty publications. He has also shared his knowledge with other professionals by lecturing on specialty topics at annual professional association meetings and research venues.
